Another Sleepliness Night – No More!

I am sure many of you have had sleepless nights because of problems, children, stressful situations physical pain or just because you simply can’t! I have had many of those nights and have finally learned natural ways to help me sleep and not ingest harmful ingredients to get me to the rested place.
Exercise, Herbal Teas and Herbal Supplements – Homemade Recipes (of sorts)

Of course, the first way to get your body to relax and relieve tension is exercise. (Not surprised I said that, right???) Come home and do some sort of exercise that gets the blood flowing and releases the tension. A 30 minute brisk walk, moving the arms forward and back (feeling like you are ready to punch the next object that comes along) will give you a nice feeling of relief and calm afterwards. Make sure you wear proper walking shoes so you don’t trip while your mind is wandering or moving at full speed! Yes, I have fallen victim to this and still have the scars from 5 years ago. However, it is a great way to relax and encourage restfulness.

Chamomile – A wonderful herb that you can drink as a tea or buy as an essential oil. It relaxes nerve cells and induces fast sleep. Drink two cups of Chamomile tea per day. It can be found easily online or at your local grocery store. Chamomile oil can be used in your bathwater. Add 2 to 3 drops while filling the tub. You can find in health food stores for the most part and online as well. Note: I find these items online are a better price. Premium Herbs and Essential Oils

Lavender - A well known herb good for many ailments and especially known for calming nerves and inducing sleep. Drink two cups of Lavender team per day. Also, add a couple of drops to your bathwater as well as to your pillow. You can make a spritzer out of it and put a couple of drops in water mixed with glycerin (to keep it blended and not separated). Add a couple of drops to a carrier oil such as almond oil (3 ounces to 3 drops of lavender oil) and rub on her skin for even greater absorption and silky soft skin. Easily found like the chamomile at a health food store or here.

Valerian Root – This is a new one for me. It has been known to treat anxiety and nerve disorders. In addition, it is known to give immediate results! Many herbal remedies take a week to two weeks to feel the effects so this is great news. It also works to reduce fatigue and insomnia due to hormonal imbalance. Valerian Root Extract that is ingested through a liquid drink type or as a capsule.

If you are one of those people so rushed and can’t stop to drink a cup of tea or take a bath, you can find these great ingredients in a capsule form. I highly recommend RidgeCrest Herbals DreamOn Natural Sleep Aid. Homeopathic and has everything you need to encourage natural sleep. Even has Black Cohosh to reduce the signs of menopause.
