Great Hairstyles for Women over 50

Over 50 does not mean your hair grows gray and lifeless.  There are so many timeless styles and great products out there that over 50 can now mean hairstyles are fun, elegant and sassy all in one even with gray hair!  Growing old doesn’t makes you immune to haircuts or styling up your hair. I found this website sporting the latest short hair trends and the one’s best suited for women over 50.  You do see Jane Fonda and Meryl Streep with their unique styles but also younger women with short haircuts as well.  What is this saying?  Short haircuts are normally timeless!  You can wear them at any age and they still look fantastic and fresh.
Women are without a doubt the center of attraction anywhere they go. Your hairstyle normally reflects your beauty and mood of that day. That said, change it up and reflect your inner self.    Not changing your hair makes you look boring.   Older (I like to use the word “Mature”) women have their own grace and allure. You can’t ignore them just because they are aged. Sometimes the wrinkled face of a mature woman is prettier than that of the young ladies surrounding her.  How a woman holds herself along with her knowledge and experience adds more to her outward beauty.  Even with wrinkles on their face, mature women might just be prettier than all the young ladies in a room. Adding to this, a woman’s short hairstyle can create that alluring personality. Short hairstyles can be classic, unique and eye catching. Women at all ages can define their features and modernize their look with only minor changes to their hairstyle.  You can go from Housewife to Cougar in one fell swoop! Mature women can emerge as chic and happening. The best way to style up short hair is to keep it side swept. It looks amazingly cute and admiring. Or you can even opt for getting your short hair colored. Though, don’t get me wrong, it is still considered chic to have gray, well-kept, healthy hair.  It is a unique style that is now famous among everyone.

Some natural ways to keep your hair looking healthy at any age is to use a couple drops of essential oils to your palms and spreading eveningly across your hand.  Run your hands lightly through your dry hair making sure it is distributed evenly (and not one big oil slick on the top!).  For dry hair, Lavender, Rosemary and Geranium oil is great to use.  Oily hair, Lavender, Cedarwood, Lemon and Clary Sage give great shine and don't add to the oily tendency of the hair.   So if you are a woman entering into her new mature life, go in with a bang and show the world that you are ready with a new do!  The attached website has some great pictures of hairstyles for everyone.  You can print out your favorites and bring them to the stylist on your next visit.   Always bring a couple in case your hairstylist advises that a style might not work with your type of hair.  It’s your time to shine so start shining!Short haircutts for the Mature Woman
